#1 at Billboard Top Latin Album Chart with Mexican pop act RBD! The album "Nuestro Amor" with the track "Feliz Cumpleanos" have also reached #1 in their native Mexico and also in Brasil. An live Album/DVD called "Live In Hollywood" with acoustic version of all songs on the album "Nuestro Amor" was recorded in front of 63.000 people at a stadium in Los Angeles. Now #6 at Billboard Top Latin Album Chart.
#1 in Japan and Denmark the same week!
Japanese star Yuki cut a local language version of ”I’m Your Cure” on her album ”Joy” that reached #1 in Japan selling over 400.000 copies. Danish super artist Sanne Salomonsen cut ”Mystery To Me” for her new album called ”The Album” which entered #1 in Denmark and so far has sold over 50.000 copies. Mats also co-wrote a song for Margaret Berger’s, who came second in last years Idols in Norway, debut album ”Chameleon”.
Mats started his own production company Trapeze Production last year where he will sign and develope artists. The first artist Mats signed up is Jade Ell that he produced and co-wrote an whole album with. Two of the songs ended up in a Danish movie called ”Den Store Dag”. The album ”Methods (Of A Hostage Negotiator)” is available for download world wide where the original version of ”I’m Your Cure” is available. The CD is scheduled for release in Denmark in September as they are finishing some new songs. At the same time Mats is developing next artist David, a young singer in the vein of Bowling For Soup, Good Charlotte.

Earlier on as a songwriter and producer, Mats has worked with major Swedish artists such as, Jan Johansen, Tommy Nilsson, etc.  Internationally, he has contributed songs to Trine Rein, on an album that went on to sell over 600.000 copies in Japan, and several songs to Popstars in different countries. In all, Mats Hedström has contributed to over 20 albums and 50 singles with worldwide sales of over 1,5 million units. His songs have repeatedly been in competition in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Even when he was the lead singer and guitar player in one of Sweden´s biggest bands, Magnum Bonum, Mats considered himself primarily a songwriter. He bought his first guitar at the age of 15, and since then he has been putting most of his time and efforts into constructing the perfect melody and cool new sounds to go with it. Personal favorites include Led Zeppelin and Black Crowes. Professionally, he will mix and match musical styles and genres, trying and create new sounds while avoiding getting caught up in any one genre.
Mats describes his music as «melodious pop and rock» and considers songwriting to be a craft. Mats´ process opens up for a lot of creative input for the singer. He will do a background, record the vocals and then go back and rerecord another background to work with the vocals. This leaves more room for improvisation and creative input for the artist.
Mats works fast and avoids getting caught up in the process, choosing instead to focus on moving forward. If Mats had a motto, it could be progress over perfection.
